| Description |
The guide is a contribution for the planning and management of the building maintenance as it proposes management models and approaches for the operators.
CEng is entusiastic in contributing to implementing this project. CEng was a business unit of Comerint S.p.A. and in the 80's it began to define a systematic approach to maintenance activities. In that period Comerint was contributing to CSEM (Comitatto di Studi Eni per la Manutenzione) activities and in 1987 collaborated to the organization of a Maintenance Summit (Convegno Eni sulla Manutenzione) held in Ravenna. CEng has then continued to develop the expertise in Maintenance Engineering that nowadays has been included in the broader concept of Asset Integrity Management.
Asset Integrity in the Oil & Gas sector has been always very important, not only within the frame of safety and environment but also for cost reduction purposes. In the last years the large constructions and civil infrastructure installations have increased their penetration and contracts for "Global Service" and "Facility Management" will be widely impemented.
For these reasons Maintenance Engineering and more in general Asset integrity Management have become of strategic importance in building and civil infrastructure maintenance and the experiences developed in the Oil & Gas industry by CEng could accelerate the adoption of proven best practices in these sectors.
